Marcia Gay Harden knew the moment was inevitable. Still, it was no less heartbreaking when her beloved mother, Beverly, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, forgot who Harden was for the first time a few years ago.
Marcia Gay Harden’s daughter, Julitta Dee Harden Scheel, guest stars with her on CBS’ “Code Black” and reveals whether Julitta wanted her mom’s advice on set. “I try not to be a helicopter mom with her,” says Harden. “She got the audition by herself and sometimes she would listen to me and sometime she would say ‘go away mom!’ Harden also shares the motherly acting advice she gave while shooting a scene where she gets hurt and needs to cry: “Save it [crying] for your close up!”
