NEW YORK — Oscar- and Tony-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden is writing a memoir, a “lyrical loving homage” to her mother.

Atria Books told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Harden’s memoir is scheduled for 2017 and will juxtapose her own life and career with the journey of her mother, Beverly Bushfield Harden, from Navy officer’s wife to her current struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

The book is currently untitled.

In a statement released through Atria, a Simon & Schuster imprint, Harden said she was anxious to share “delightful and heartwarming stories” about her mother.

Harden, 56, won an Academy Award in 2001 for her supporting role in “Pollock” and received a Tony in 2009 as lead actress in “God of Carnage.” She currently appears in the CBS television medical drama “Code Black.”
