Early in her career, a casting director left for the airport when she was five minutes late. Undeterred, she drove her convertible through the rain, talked her way through the gate, and managed to get onto the plane, where she handed the casting director her picture and resume.

As a pilot in the Navy, Harden’s dad survived a crash into San Francisco Bay after his engine burst into flames. He saved countless lives by safely lifting the plane just inches over cars traveling on the Bay Bridge.
